2010 Dodge Avenger R/T Review

When it comes to mid-size sedans, I have to be honest when I say that most of them are pretty well, blah looking. There is a lot of competition when you compare the Honda Accord, Chevy Malibu, Mazda6, Ford Fusion and Toyota Camry.

This Dodge Avenger is nothing hugely different. It does have a more aggressive and chunky looking style and it has some uniqueness in the look department. I parked it in between a Honda Accord and a Ford Fusion and it looks really nice! This midsize car just has a bit more grunt than they do, at least on the outside.

The exterior styling takes several cues from the very aggressive looking Charger. I like the Dodge trademark crosshairs on the front grille. Looking at the wide hip over the rear wheels, the 18-inch alloy wheels and short trunk with spoiler, this Avenger R/T is handsome.

I am not a big fan of Dodge interiors. I feel they are too plain and out dated. This Avenger is no different.

Yes, the tachometer is easy to read, all the knobs and dials are within easy reach of the driver but I think that the Accord and even the Malibu look more current. Even though I am not a big fan of the cabin overall, the interior has been well thought out.

I usually use my iPod to listen to music but on a drive with a friend, he decided to put in a CD. I think it is very cool that you push a button and the touch screen pops up and you slide your disc in.

The driver’s seat is fully adjustable and it is easy to find a comfortable driving position with the standard tilt and telescoping steering wheel. The seat is not too firm, has lumbar support and I could easily drive in it every day.

Features like the standard ‘Chill Zone’, a cooled upper glove box to keep your drinks from getting warm, an easy to reach USB and auxiliary jack and the duel level storage bin with 12 volt power outlet make spending a lot of time in this car enjoyable for both driver and passengers.
